Hi guys. I am trying to change my Txt ringtone on the LG Expo but no matter where i seem to place the ringtone on my device i cannot seem to choose from anything but the default. If anyone has any information please let me know. I would also be willing to download an aftermarket program to be able to do this is you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

Are you trying to Add a Alert Tone for when you receive a Txt Message? If so there is a specific folder that the tones have to reside in... Using ActiveSync choose "Explore" from the main Active Sync window>> Open "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" and double click on it, next Open the "Application Data" folder and then click on the "Sounds Folder" and place your alert tones here... That should be it, just go back to the "Sound & Notification" and select notification and you should see the newly added tones... Remember that ringtones need to be smaller than 300KB.

This LG eXpo hack allows you to bypass the 300kb ringtone file size limit for any ringtone that is assigned. LG Phone Problem and Solution

Weve known that the ringtone size limit is set to 300k on Windows Mobile, but there is an easy fix for this. There is a simple reg edit that will take care of this. Attached is a cab that will change the limit to 25 MB. That is a bit excessive, but this will ensure that you dont have to worry about the file size.

If you prefer to edit the reg itself then go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>Sounds and change the value of FileSizeLimit.

If you use any of the Registry editing tools please be careful because they are very powerful and could cause additional issues if you edit the wrong value.
