I purchased an LG260 and up until a few months ago LOVED it! It started to shut off during calls, the screen freezes, it drops texts and messages. That is if I can get it to turn on at all! I brought it to my carrier (Cellcom) and they said this phone has been a giant pain in the neck and wished they had never carried it. There were three other Cellcom employees there and they all agreed. They tried to "reset" the phone and that didnt work. Tomorrow I am going back so my phone can spend the whole day getting wiped clear of every bit of info to see if the hard reset will work. They told me not to hold my breath, that they send these phones into LG and not one has come back fixed, basically I have a very expensive paper weight. I could not believe that LG would bail on its customers so I got on line when I came home and WOW did I get an eyeful of complaints about this phone!! All the same "symptoms". I called customer service and Lissette said there was nothing they could do because they couldnt "come to the problem" and that Cellcom couldnt send in my phone because they arent liscensed carriers. That if I tried to send it in they would just send it back to me. When I told her that actually Cellcom has sent phones in and offered to send mine in(not that they thought it would work)she then stated that my ONLY option was to send it in through Cellcom.(WHAT?) I just dont get the "yeah we know you invested in us...there is a HUGE flaw in this phone but too bad, buy another one" mentality!! I hoping and praying that Im wrong about LG and somewhere along the line I'll hear something like "We have heard that there are issues out there and we are sorry for the inconvenience this phone has caused you. We dont want this to be your "LG experience", how can we help make this right? I guess we will see...if anyone has any advice I would LOVE to hear it!! |

Is the phone under a year old? Did you call LG Support at (800) 793-8896?? They shouldn't give you any hassles about sending in the phone for repair. I'm surprised that Cellcom says that the returned phones are still having problems... I've seen how the service center pulls the phones apart, updates them, and then tests them before they go back out and they are very through! Make sure you back up your contacts before doing a Mater Rest or sending it in... You will loose your personal data. |

I also have the LG 260, and it WAS great. About 6 months ago it started shutting off when I was texting, making a call or when I was simply sliding it shut. I have called the support number twice and the first time I was told it was a software problem. So I took it into my carrier and they downloaded new software. It worked great for about a month. I then took it back to my carrier and they stated that it was a battery problem.....so 2 batteries later, it still does the same thing. (After the batteries were changed it worked well for about 2 weeks) I just got off the phone with the support people again...and now I am being told I could just send them the phone....at my expence....but they cant promise anything because they didn't know there was an issue. HELLO? I can not have the only 2 phones with this problem. Yes, I said 2. My sons phone actually got sent in, came back and 2 batteries later for it, still same problem. |

I'm sorry for your experiences with LG, that is discouraging... I think over all the LX260 was a good phone, but it sounds like it hasn't been for you... I will pass your comments on and let them know of your experiences |

no, the phone is about 17 months old...but shouldnt cell phones last more than two years?? i do understand the fact that it is no longer under warranty. i also understand the random difficult phone and sometime you just get stuck with a lemon...but there are SOOOO many posts about the EXACT same problems with the EXACT same phone. Doesnt that seem more that coincidental? I guess I am coming from 20 years of retail/customer service and know that if multiple returns happen for the same reason with the same merchandise we are all about apologizing and trying to make it up to the customer. Even if that means we get on the phone with manufacturer ourselves. I've seen manufacturers send customers brand new merchandise, letters of apology, AND gift certificates for the customers trouble. I get that that kind of rare customer service is above and beyond...Im not asking for any of that. I just want to come out even...a decent working phone for a decent period of time for the decent amount of money i spent. I want to love LG and I havent given up yet!! |
