I'm not sure if this is just my phone, or if someone already posted this suggestion but...

I've recently experience an issue with t9 texting though. It doesn't occur very frequently, but sometimes when i reply or create a new text message and type a word and try to hit "next" to go to different words (using the predictive text), it won't actually go to the next word but instead input a "0". Apparently it happens when i switch from the qwerty keyboard back to the t9/portrait mode.

For example if i type the word "year" and hit "next" it would normally change the word to "wear".

But with this issue that i've encountered it would look like "year0".

Its really annoying and hopefully if there is another firmware update this issue will be resolved.

Yes, please allow notifications to be turned off! This is so incredibly annoying. I actually miss answering calls while I fumble around trying to hit "View Later", and if I try to make a call through my bluetooth in my car, I have to scramble around and find the phone, unlock it, and hit "View Later" if a text message has arrived. It's awful! Why in the world can't this be turned off?

I have been experiencing the same texting issue as noto ever since i updated to v06( terrible idea, it made me hate my phone because it generally made it worse and i text alot) but it does not only happen when i switch from qwerty to t9/word it happens almost every other text.

I called verizon about 2 weeks ago and talked to a tech rep for awhile and he could not find a new firmware on the system anywhere but he did say that they usually do not find out there will be an update until its about to be released

@ LG PRODUCT PRO.. Are you an LG empolyee ?

Just asking because other LG people like the Tech's states that LG does not make the firmware and they only load the firmware that the Carrier has the Firmware made.. if this is the case then we all are wasting our time here... we all should be giving VZW a piece of our mind instead of LG ....

VZW is one of the worst company's around... think about it... cost of 100.00 a month for unlimted plan with out Vcast which is another 15.00 and .. then they want you to pay for everything you do as a extra charge even games ... you can not just pay the game right out you have to pay for usage... really every one should stop letting companys do this ... How you may ask... simple TELL THEM YOU WANT TAKE IT ANY MORE ... tell very one you can ... if they want to stay in business then they would have no choice but to change but as long as every one keeps letting them Do this then they will..

And since This site seems to state that LG does the Firmware prove it.. Show use that you want us.. that you care about having us as your customer ... Show us that you don't want to end up as a 3rd rate phone maker .... Because as to most we just say please .. what they mean is Fix it or else... ... and if you ask what the ELSE is will that would be us droping LG products and switching over to a Phone maker that carries about the people that pay the phones... BLackBerry was going through this to.. with the fact that VZW demanded that they Remove WIFI from the BB ... VZW wants to make sure they get all your money and some... but guess what the Last i Heard is that BB told VZW to kiss there @@@ and that from now on all BB will have WIFI ... way did they do this will because customers demanded it and said they would go with another company that gave them what they wanted...

Way did they make the Dare and give it everything needed to be a Smart Phone but truned it into a Dump Phone?... For what the dare does you could have used cheaper compents and saved us alot of money...

I paid for the phone... Now i want the phone to be used like it was ment to be used... So please let us know ... DO YOU WORK FOR LG>..... WE need to tell the right People about this if anything is to be done..

Take a look at how many people has viewed this Theard.. Now just think if we all go to all the other Forum sites and starting in about this ... How many people will change there mind about buying LG products if they don't care about the People that use them..... really VZW may buy the Dare form you and we have to then buy it from them but hey if all we get is a very very over priced Dump phone then we will remember that on our next phone pruchase and buy something else or even triad this one in on another and make sure that when some ask which phone they should go with will ...You know what will be said...

1 happy person may tell 2 people but a unhappy person will tell every one they see or talk to ... and with the net thats in the thousands..

LG Hope your getting all this...

I know that the phone is a well made phone and yes there are problems with some of the firmware issues but you have a chance to make better to make it the way I KNOW LG WANTS IT TO BE...

If LG Fixes this and give use what we paid for then GUESS what we all will be saying....

"Even Though LG has had some issues most of it was due to VZW but LG cares about the People that use there products so much so that they TOOK The time to Fix the Problems and gave use what paid for.. for this LG is my phone of choice because of the well made products and the fact that they care about use and hear what we say and give use what we need to fully enjoy our phones as they are ment to be enjoyed"

I hope that this is what i will be able to say about LG... I belive in LG .... I just hope that LG belives in use..

IF not well lets say i wouldn't be buying in stocks any time soon....

@ this point some one from LG needs to POST a comment Letting use know where they stand .... Times running out and people are tried of waiting for hopes and dreams ...

Best Regards

Yeah LG, i have to agree with Shadow Walker.

It's was made to be a great phone, but it's not.

And seriously, i been tracking this thread for a few months now, and i even checked LGproductPro's twitter, NOTHING is being announced about this firmware.

Even if its not being released, please just tell us so we can stop wasting our time.

So right now, all im asking for you is to tell everyone, is this Firmware going to be released or not!?

I don't think that LG product Pro is privy to that info. And I am a bit confused by a comment he made in another thread where he states that firmware upgrades are dictated by the carrier and not the manufacture. I dont know if he means that VZW is responsible for creating the firmware upgrade or for requesting it from the manufacture. I have asked him to clear that up and will wait for his response. However as I have stated before in other threads I really feel betrayed by both LG and Verizon for the mere fact that the DARE was the flagship feature phone when purchased and may I even comment a phone that did more then most smart phones like the IPhone, which just got voice activation and reconition now. I purchased the DARE six months ago and in that time the Iphone has had several, mark that several firmwar releases to make it comparable to the DARE and surpass it (apps aside). Meanwhile verizon and LG have done Nada for the dare instead thye have wasted time bring out another gazillion phones. The versa , the Envy 3 and envy touch ( how many envy versions do we need?). All with new features and OTA firmware realeases on the get go.
When all VZW and LG needed to do is update the DARE with a OTA firmware that introduced all the plausable and fesible suggestions that we the 70,000 plus DARE users have requested to bring our beloved phone up to par.

It is trully a sad testement to VZW and LG that there customer feed back is not valued and that we are basically being told to @@@@ off and just buy another phone. Well that is exsactlly what they will get infact I am considering leaving VZW all together and never again purchase a LG product because of this attidude towars their customers. I to will never recommed a LG product to friends and co-works again because of their falilure to even comment to or acknowledged their customers.

personally my opinion of VZW and LG has sunk due to the fact that they seem to abandon their phones at an arlarming rate. Look I understand the need to innovate but come on 1 year after realease they are abandoning the DARE!!!! What gives. Will they Abandon the Versa and The Envyu touch in six months? Anyway all we are asking is for some one from LG engineering or marketing to make a comment on wheather VZW has requested a Firmware upgrade or not so we can move on. This is coming down to the wire for LG and VZW reagrding the DARE and what 70,000 plus subscribers are going to do. I am sadden by the attidued that VZW and LG have taken towards such an extrodnary phone.

I wonder if there is a office or department that we can direct all these e-mails and suggestions to over at Verizon to make them aware of our growing fustration with their seemingly apathy towards our beloved phone. I mean as a voice of 70,000 subscribers who call the Dare their phone of choice VZW will have to listen or risk loosing 70,000 subscribers that AT&T would not mind picking up. I have search their site and can't find anywher to post a comment or send an e-mail to conserning the DARE.

I see that there is a lot of frustration about this software release on this thread. I will mention it. I also want to apologize that anyone feels that the Dare has been abandoned it hasn't. Verizon Wireless is going to be the first place that you hear of the update. I will keep my ear to the ground and as soon as I hear something from Verizon Wireless I will post it and Tweet it.

Thanks for the apologize...

but its probley not your place to do the apologizing.. Since you did not answer the question about you working for LG i would have to say you don't.. but feel free to correct me..

And i see you say VZW will know 1st... will thats becaue they are the ones that has the firmware made.. EVERY ONE WE HAVE TO TAKE THIS TO VZW if you want something done about this..

Everything we are doing here is a big waste of time... if any one has a good VZW link to voice our concerns please share it ... we all needed it if where going to get anything done about it...

THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE lies with in the number of people that request change... if only a few of us say hey do something then nothing well be done but if everyone that has a dare and wants things to change said DO THIS OR ELSE they will have to lisen.. not to say that everything would be fixed ...like i said before VZW is only about how much money they can get out of you.

best regards

I think that voicing your concerns to Verizon Wireless is a great idea. It takes a lot of people and interaction on both sides. I do work for LG and we appreciate the feedback that we get on this forum. I also worked for Verizon Wireless for a number of years and know that they treat customer concerns with a lot of care.

LG Product Pro no need for you to apoligize. It is the powers that be that need to really step up to the plate and address us - Verizon product support and LG product support. We vist and comment on this forum in hopes that LG would hear our concerns and bring them to Verizon where both could sit down and address the issues.

We would all like very much just to know that those responsible for firmware for the LG dare hear our collective voices. Since you were a Verizon employee prior to joining LG are you aware of a e-mail address or a spot on Verizons website were we can maybe take all of theses comments and post them it would be greatly apprecaited. I have search on Verizons site and have found no area for this.

In the mean time Can you shed any light on LG's feeling towards the Dare? Is LG still manufacturing and supporting the vx9700? Is LG looking to place its s class gui on any exsisting devices such as the Dare or is it just new devices? Will the Dare get any attention from LG at all this year? any light you can shead to bring some hope would also be appreciated

Let me do this. I will add a suggestion tab to my reporting. This way trending suggestions will be given to the developers. I also want you to know how quaint and hands on the LG family is. People from every level in the company pop in and take a look at this site. In reference to making a suggestion to Verizon Wireless. The best way would be to write a direct letter and request some sort of forum or go to the forum and make a tab for suggestions. I believe that their forum is moderated as well. Thanks for the voices guys!!!

Guys

I have started a post on the Verizon Forum under Forum feedback and Suggestions entitled " Suggestions for the LG Dare " I am hoping that Verizon engineering and Marketing will see this tread and take note but to have this happen I need your help!!!! If you can all head there and just coppy and past your suggestions from here to this tread maybe Verizon will start stepping to the plate. If we express our growing concerns and fustrations there too. VZW will have to start to listen and start work with LG to bring the features we so desire to see on our beloved LG Dare.

Aagin please help out with this guys I can;t do it alone.

Thanks

LG Product Pro..

I have a Question for you... Since I do not know what is in the contract you have with VZW... I will have to count on you to find answer to this...

Can LG give info so custom software can be made?

The phone is ours and we can do what we want with it .. the software is protected but the core software should be open source we just need drivers and info about call funcations and so on so custom firmware can be made... Even though I my self can not program there are some who can and would if given the ok and the right info...

if you take a look at the thread started at VZW you will see that no one from VZW as even botherd to say hey we hear you and we are working on it ... or anything for that matter...

THEY DON'T care this is way you have gotten so many upset response to the Dare.. I know for a fact that when you made the phone you seen it total different then they way VZW released it .. If you didn't you would not have had Java and a few other things in it that was taken out by VZW... Don't let them bring you down with them...

Thanks for taking the time to answer this question..

Best Regards

Since the thread has started on the VZW forum we have not heared anything from any VZW rep but we will continue to give it time. We intend to keep up the pressure both here and the VZW forum. Maybe in some way or form LG and VZW will take heed of our fustration and begin the process of working together to implement some of our suggetions and announce a sechduled release date for v07.

If you have heared anything throught the grapevine that may provide a glimmer of hope or know something that cannot be shared as of yet could you please just issue a "hold on you will be happy" statement or so?

Thanks
