1. Supress (Quiet) the LG Dareringer and allow the cars bluetooth device to ring whenever a call is received.

2. Option to disable the "Answer, Ignore, Quiet" feature whenever there is an incoming call or disable all together.

The only thing I don't love with this phone is retrieving messages. As you are trying to retrieve them, the "missed call" box pops up over everything just when you areabout to pull up the keypad to put in your access code. You have to hurry up and press the "view now" or "view later" to get rid of it, then hurry up to get the keypad up. VERY annoying!

Have been a loyal LG user, and just purchased a Dare. Very nice, but takes some practice. Only real deficiency, compared to my prior two LG phones (VX8300 & VX4400), is that contact names are severely truncated. VX8300 scrolled the contact name, so that it could be fully viewed. The only way to see the full contact name with the Dare is to go to the EDIT function, which is inconvenient and "dangerous," since something may get accidentally changed before exiting the EDIT screen.

Both Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics say "that's just the way it is." Actually, I consider this a rather severe problem, especially for things such as I.C.E. contacts, where important information is likely to be contained in the contact name field.

If an LG specialist is reading this, I sure hope that a future software update will fix this issue. In the meantime, does anyone else have any additional input or suggested workarounds?

Hi there,

As I posted before re: this identical thread. The space is 20 characters long. I'm not sure that LG will think it is an "issue" that needs to be "fixed" in a firmware update.

Hello,

I have a small suggestion about the Music Player. I'm using V5 by the way.

I listen to 30-minute+ audio files. When a call comes in AND the music is paused, I have to restart the track by searching for it, the searching through it to find out where I was. Obviously I'm not looking at the player when the call comes in, so I loose my place and waste anywhere from a few minutes to half-an-hour trying to find my place by the fast-forward button.

1. Can a variable speed fast-forward be made available by how long the FF is held down - like an iPod?

2. Can the music player applet have a setting to "save" it's last location (until it's reset by a restart)?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who got this phone for it's music playing capabilities and experiencing this issue, but it's significant enough that I'm starting to use my iPod again and this VERY nice LG phone is just a VERY nice regular phone. I'd really like to use it more for what I purchased it for - a smart-phone, all-in-one, touch-screen phone that ISN'T an Apple or MS driven.

Thanks,

John Fox

While the music player may need to evolve a bit more, I just want to point out that the Dare is not a smart phone...

Contacts area is an issue for me, too. It lacks any sort of notes area for storing information about this contact. I would have to use the Name field, which is both limited AND is used VERY SPECIFICALLY by the voice activated calling system - so if I type in contact info with my notes like: "Susan & Dave Smith -Holly -Justin" - when I really mean "Susan" whose husband is Dave and whose kids are Holly and Justin but I never remember their names... then every time I call Susan I have to remember to state "Susan and Dave Smith Holly Justin" - worse, what if I want some other info there? It may be a business contact - so I would like to put the business name and the position they hold in a notes area. "JobsFirst Agency - Placement Rep" does not belong in the Contact Name slot. Maybe I want to toss in their mailing address - which is REALLY handy to have. In fact, when I moved contacts from my old LG V to this phone, I lost a whole set of mailing addresses because there was no place for them.

I'd really like to see that improved. I also agree with zgrl1 about how the "missed call" box pops up over everything just when you are about to pull up the keypad to put in your access code. Several hands free aspects get very "un-hands-free" in actual execution. My state has a rule about touching your phone when driving, and all this fiddling to get to your messages is scary.

Third... I'd love to be able to work with texts hands-free. My old LG had a feature that would read your text message aloud to you. Connecting the voice command feature to the text messages (Check - text messages ) all the way through and including reading the message to me, then even allowing the option to reply with an "Insert Quick Text" would be excellent.

I spent a whole month searching for the best phone for me. All over the internet, stores, friends, strangers. The concensus best phone was the Dare. Why is so hard for one of the best phone in the market to to get the up grade it needs.I really feel Verizon is missing a huge chunck of the market by not focusing on this phone(hint-i phone killer). The sad part is it really wouldnt take much.VVM, Flash browsing, more apps few more and you have the best phone on the market hands down. For every age group.
