Hi All,

I think this is the place to report a bug and suggestions for my LG Arena

First of all, it's a great phone, the LG Arena ( KM900 ). I'm really happy that I've choosen this phone !!
After 2 firmware updates, I still encounter bug's on the emailclient on the phone.

First bug:
I've configured 3 emailaccounts on my phone. When I let the phone automatically ( every 30 min. ) get my email on 1 client, a pupup is shown inicating new email ( when there are any ). But when I let the phone check new email on all accounts and I've ony have new email on one account, the popup doesn't show !!
Second bug: When I have new email, the original email is still on the server. Now, when I delete all emails on that account ( inbox, send items... all ), the phone crashes on the next email check ( only way out is a battery removal ) !! But, when I remove the email from the server ( with my PC ), it works all fine again.

Then, a suggestion; I really miss the possibility to configure a sound to be played on receiving new email. Now, I have to check the display of the phone to see if I have new email. I would really like to have a sound played.

I hope I can help you ( LG Mobile firmware developers ) with this bug report and hopefully they can help me with solving the issues in a next firmware release.

Thank you for posting in our site and I am going to send this information over. We generally do moslty deal with US manufactured handsets on this site. However, I have seen a trend in UK posts on this site and I will do everything I can to help.

Thank you for your quick response. And many thanks for forwarding the info !!
A few weeks ago, I've already sent an email to LG customer support with the same info, but they advised me to send the phone back to the shop for repair. That wasn't the answer I was looking for, I just wanted to report the issues to LG for the developers. But, I do understand that customer support couldn't reply otherwise than they did.

Anyway, I googled to find a forum of some sort being able to reach the LG development department. I found several forums, all very interesting, but none that will be monitored by LG R&D I suppose. Until I found the lgcommunity.com website ( this one ).

Hopefully my info will reach the LG R&D department and the issues are fixed in a next firmware release of the Arena firmware. I'll let you know through this forum.

Hi there,

I just got my KM900 and I upgraded the firmare to v10g. I've got a few suggestion:

1) A manual lock
- Not just auto lock which I will have to wait at least 10 seconds to have the phone locked.

2) Music player's playlist
- which I am sure you have noticed that we cannot add songs into new play list, hence, no playlist can be used.

3) Equalizer of the music player
- This could be a tough one, the dolby mobile equlalizer is very weak at the low frequency (bass) respond. It will be nice to have it enhanced in some ways, or make another manual equalizer for users to adjust the frequency output.

That's all for now, will add more to the list if I can find any.

Short press the power button to manual lock the phone

This is a known issue on the Arena. Some of the other fimware verisons do not have this problem

This is also available on other Firware releases for the arena

Today I've progged a new firmware on my LG Arena. And, as promised a while ago, I would let the outcome of the buxfixes know through this forum.

First bug I've mentioned is unfortunately not solved.

The second one is solved. Luckily, because that was the most "irritating". And bummer that it still isn't possible to play a sound when I have a new email.... bummer.

But, still..... I'm very happy with this phone !!

I have 'LGMobile software update agent' running on my PC, what tells me if there is a new firmware update.

Also, when you connect your phone to your PC using "LG PC Suite" it will automatically check if new firmware is available for your phone. Just wait for 30 sec. or so. These updates are provider dependent ( branded phones ).

Another option is to upgrade to any version you want, never tried it though, but check the forum on www.mylgarena.com. There are threads explaining how to perform a firmware upgrade.
