Here it is halfway into 2010 and I finally notice this:

(1) It is bad enough that the env2 names photos mmddyyhhmm.jpg, since that means they're not in numberical order (that is, better would be yymmddhhmm.jpg).

(2) But now I see (which didn't stick out because of the above) that even this is broken in 2010: it gives the year as 00! For example, I took a picture a few days ago and got the filename 0528001249.jpg.

Is there even the remotest explanation for (2), let alone (1)? Is there a fix? Best of all would be a way to configure the filenaming scheme.

I mostly take pictures with a camera, but have to admit having a cam on the phone is occasionally handy!

I have version '03' on my enV2 and I see the Date is broken in this version as well. Do you know what version of software you have in your phone? You can find this info in the Settings Menu under - Phone Info - Under SW/HW version - Next [SW Version] it should look like "VX910V03" The last 3 Characters are what I am interested in. In this example "V03" indicates version 3 of the phones software. I believe '07' is the latest version.

I'll try to find if it was addressed in a later SW version. If there is a newer version, you can stop by your local Verizon Corp store and get the new version flashed to your phone.

Also, unfortunately, it doesn't look like there is anyway to change the file naming scheme.

Let me know what SW version you have on your enV2.
