I had an lg vu for 5 months, the screen froze up on it ,everything else worked side buttons, face buttons, camera, but just not the touch screen? when i called lg the lady tried several ways to make it sound like it was something I did to cause it? after a few minutes of this ,I said look this phone was treated with respect since day one!there is not even any scratch on it,it has never been even exposed to moisture,it has never been dropped! VERY reluctantly she gave me a return authorization code.then she gave me the address in Texas to send it to.then said if we think the problem is your fault, which she just spent 15 minutes saying it was my fault without even seeing the phone,we will charge you up to $100 to fix it! i said im not paying $100 dollars to fix this phone! I certainly understand that people including me can be rough on phones.we have a business also and understand that many people think that the product you sell should last for ever and should be bullet proof so to speak.but this phone only came out of its holder to be charged or answered,it hasn't even been dirty!.she then said i may have put to much pressure on the screen somehow .and again they would not charge more then $100 to fix it.after that experience,we took our new lg tv that we had just purchased back to best buy in exchange for a different model. the phone did work flawlessly for 5 months and i was very happy with it. but 5 months is just not long enough for the price. hopefully you wont need to contact customer service. BUT BEWARE IF YOU DO!!!!

I'm really sorry for your experience, I would be very upset as well. Did you get the name of the Customer Service person you talked with? When I have called they have been courteous with me... I have called in as a consumer not an LG Employee, and the service has been quick. Unless your phone was banged up or scratched or the Moisture sensor was activated they shouldn't be making judgment calls without seeing. In fact at least on of the phone I sent in was used by a friend and had indeed been dropped numerous times... No questions asked, they just took it back for repair.

Again I apologize for the way you were treated.

did not grab the name ,she wasn't rude, she just explained how it works,if the screen froze it must be my fault.if something i did to that phone caused it to break ...well then im not sure what to say...im speechless, as i said before that phone was treated GREAT,this is not my first phone,as a matter of fact the ironic part of it was my kids laughed at me when it broke.because im a stickler for taking care of things, and nag at them if they don't with there things.so when i was informed that it was more then likely my fault i was shocked.,i have been with at&t for 17 years.i did call them and told them if my next upgrade includes a LG phone...it will be my last year with them.no need for you to apologize, i mailed them a couple days after and got the ..are warranty is great sales pitch.like i said my wife and i have a small business and understand how it works.but i did tell them that i would go to some forums and post my experience with them.just holding up my end of it. in this day of the web it is nice to be able to research about others experience with products and company's. ....i just never realized there were that many phone forums! thanks greg.

If you still need help, Try LG's Support at: (800) 793-8896 ... If the phone is less than a year old they will fix / replace it for you.

that is the number i called ? that is when they said take this number a0101g05249 and send it to fort-worth Texas,...BUT if the screen froze up its probably because of to much pressure on the screen ? so it may cost me no more then $100 to fix. if that phone was not a fluke and something went wrong with it,then it is my fault like she said ...correct? if i did something to cause that to phone freeze the way i treated it, then i certainly will not take a chance at being charged $100 dollars to have it back.she said its common to have the seal be broke on the face if too much pressure is exerted on it! and thats what it sounds like.well that i do understand ,but that is NOT what happened here.when i called at&t ,they said that LG calls it bleeding or something?AND THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR IT! so i asked am i basically out of a phone...the reply was .sorry but yes! so im just here to make sure others know how it works, I am lucky enough in these times that i can afford a new one. but others can not.and i only get had once in life.actually im using one of our old razors from a couple years ago, they seemed to have lastediprobably should have stuck with them. one question i would like to ask is ,if someone sends there phone back and its fixed ,but its determined to be negligence ,do they contact the people and let them know the bill.or do they just send a bill back with the phone?

"Bleeding," as I understand it, is when the LCD Pigment actually leaks out of the membrane and looks like a small "Puddle of Ink" or a Line of ink following the Crack, general caused by dropping or pushing too hard on the display... It doesn't sound like what you are described as happening to you..

I called customer service, just now, to verify that they notify the customer before billing them, if it's determined to be "User damage."

I don't think you will have any problems getting it repaired at NO Cost if it's less than a year old and in as good of shape as you described. But they will let you know in advance if there will be a charge.

-Good Luck, let me know what happens.

the phone is long gone now, after i was told it was more then likely my fault and it was almost certainly going to cost me up to $100, your customer service rep asked if i had called at&t yet. i said i will but wasn't sure why? when i called at&t they said if they are saying its some sort of bleeding then you WILL be responsible for it. so again i asked ..so basically im out of a phone..in which he replied basically.. yes. so i blew some steam his way and said ok chalk it up as a company that is big enough to throw a few customers to the curb. I continued on my way but a couple hours later i went to make a call and could not use the screen to reach the dial pad ....well that was the end of that phone. im just letting other people know how the game works. I usually dont get this involved with $200 mistakes but after she said it was probably my fault ,AND IM A 150% SURE ITS WASN'T. i said i was going to let many others know how LG works, and I am a man of my word(not many of them around anymore)LOL. I can say that i haven't had many replies yet from the other forums but i have had many views.i do have a nice review on CNET, and epinions.com. now this probably isnt going to be a noticeable difference in LG bottom line. but maybe this will save someone less fortunate of being shafted. I can say that YOU have been courteous and certainly SEEM to care, to bad the rest aren't like that! no offense to you. i would be willing to bet it was just a fluke what happened with my phone.one thing i have learned in my 40+ years the dollar you think you have saved by putting one over on someone can cost you in the long run. thanks ..greg..
