I've been having serious issues with volume control in my new enV2 phone (whichI otherwise love, by the way), andI was wondering if anybody might have an answer for me. I synced some music onto my phone (which involved a gloriously overpriced microSD card, and the Music Essentials kit), and went to listen to it on my new stereo headset with adapter, only to discover that the music was agonizingly loud. Granted that I'm severely hearing impaired this is definitely an issue.

I have already tried what appears to be the Yahoo Answers solution: Go to Master Volume (which seems to only apply to the ringtone...), and use the "convenient" side buttons. I found that neither of these put my music at a comfortable listening level, and upon further inspection I realized that the bass levels are the main problem.

I'm not the only one having issues with this, as it existed on Yahoo Answers, but the answer was something ridiculous along the lines of "WHY WULD U GET AN ENV2?!!1!1"...yeah.

I'd love an answer to this. At the lowest volume, I have to hang my earbuds out of my ears a little to try and cut down the sound. Awesome that it cranks loud enough to listen to across the room, but there's just not enough dynamic range. Hearing loss lawsuit anyone? Didn't iPod have to do a live software update for this a few years back?

Well im not sure whats wrong with my enV2 volume but its simply not loud enough. I purchased a bluetooth motorola stereo headset for it and the volume is just too soft. I couldnt take it anymore soi just went out and bought an ipod.

I seem to have the opposite problem with my enV2, although I'm speaking of normal use and not with headphones or headsets. It's difficult to hear in anything approaching a noisy environment, and that's either in normal handset or speakerphone mode.

It's mildly annoying when makingphone calls, but becomes downright problematic when usingVerizon Navigator. I love it to bits, especially with the enV2 keyboard making very quick work of entering any necessary information, but the phone's volume is very, very quiet. In order to be able to use it in the car, my husband and I have to turn off our radio completely, and turn the phone towards him in order for him to be able to hear the voice directions from the application. Neither of us is hearing-impaired.

My previous phone was an LGVX8300, and its volume was very robust. I'm not sure why the enV2 is so much quieter, but if there is some way to adjust the volume other than the standard Master Volume controls (perhaps overriding some Verizon-set limitation?), it would be helpful to know.

The phone is only a few months old, and therefore still well under warranty, but I would not want to waste Verizon's time with an exchange if there is an easier solution. In general I adore my enV2 and my only complaint would be its very soft volume.

I just got an enV2. This is my third LG phone. I keep falling for them. The first two had rather muddled audio, so I'm hoping for a change in the enV. But like the others, the volume control is hopeless. All three phones have the same really pathetic five steps of volume plus vibrate and off. A slider instead of multistep would be far more functional. Right off the bat the lowest setting is still too loud. LG must have a noisy design center.

A hack to change the volume settings would be nice...

Phone design seems to every now and then get a "new" idea, not necessary a good one, while meanwhile clumsy design aspects mostly just get handed on and on. Some day.
