Interesting.. Actually it's not a "Settings" Issue, it's the Technology of the screen. The Ally uses a "Capacitive" style screen, like the ipod Touch, it reads the static in your finger not touch pressure from a Finger Nail or Stylus. However there are Stylus available for Capacitive screens...
Here is one example I found of a Stylus for the Capacitive type screens... I don't know this company or there products so I would be careful and check around.
