My wife is very pleased with the enV touch she just got. However, yesterday all of her photos were lost. She had about 120 photos that just disappeared in front of her eyes. All of here pictures first turned to an icon with what looks like blue lips and a question mark. Now there isn't even that.

She doesn't recall doing anything to make this happen and was unsuccessful in trying to recover the photos. We haven't yet found anything that explains what the icons mean. The only other time she saw the icon was when she cropped a small photo that I texted to her from my phone.

As I typed this she just noticed that most of her songs, ringtones, etc. have been lost, it's pretty much back to the stuff that came with the phone. Did this phone just do a memory dump for some reason?

First thing I would try is to do a reset on the phone in question. You can do this by Pulling the Battery Out of the phone, while it is turned on... NOT Plugged into the charger. Wait a minute and replace the battery and power back up. Now see if your phone shows the missing items.

Where are the songs and music in question stored? Are they in the internal memory or are they on the MicroSD Card? Do you have a USB cable? If you have a MicroSD card and a USB cable we can hook your phone up to your PC and see if we can see them on the PC.

We don't know for a fact if the lost files are on the card or the phone's memory. It does have a 2 gig microSD card that has been formatted. BTW it is an enV3 touch.

After discussing with my wife what the phone did, it sounds like it reset itself because the ringtones, went back to factory settings for the most part. Pics that were attached to contacts and ringtones attached to contacts stayed as she set them. Background pics were changed to factory pics.Alert sounds for text messages and E-mail were changed.

She talked with someone else that suggested the memory card was loose?

Or possibly there is an issue with the phone. How long have you had the phone? If it happens again, I'd take it into your Local Verizon Store to see if they can help you... This is not normal...

Let me know what happens.

Owned the phone for 6 months as of now. Hasn't happened again so far since she began reloading some pics/songs.

I'm sorry I missed your question... Do you have the LG Drivers installed? You can download them from this link... They are in the "Drivers Folder"

http://www.lgcommunity.com/file_library.aspx

* Don't plug the phone into your PC until AFTER you have installed the Drivers and once complete plug your phone into the USB port and you should see a message telling you the Drivers have been installed successfully.

* BEFORE you plug the phone into your PC, open the Flip and go to Settings & Tools>> The USB Auto detection>> Set this to Modem.

* Now plug your phone into your PC. You should see messages in the lower right of your PC monitor saying that hardware was installed successfully.

* On your phone Go back to the Settings menu and go to "Tools" and, at the bottom of the menu, select "USB Mass Storage" Mode. This will mount your MicroSD on your PCs "My Computer" as another driver letter... Double click on that new drive to open it up so you can view the folder structure.

Your pictures will probably be in a folder named "DCIM" and then a sub folder named "Camera" ....... Se if they are there, if so, you can copy them to your PC for safe keeping. If you don't see them lok in other folders on the card to see if you can find them...

Let me know what happens.

Well, last night the phone acted up again. She was typing a text when the phone screen went black, then the Verizon logo appeared as if the phone was restarting.

She tried the battery removal procedure you describe in the previous post. No pics or ringtones lost, but background pics and ring/alert tones went back to factory settings. She had erased the game that came with the phone, and it is back now!?

I guess the next step will be to have the local store look at it.

Yes I think it's time to have them look at your phone... Make sure they check the "Firmware" version in your phone. If you are visiting a Corporate Verizon store, they can Update the phone to the latest version of the operating system...

Let me know how this works out.

Less than six months with the replacement, and it went bad already. It kept restarting and wouldn't do anything else no matter what was tried to reset it. 3rd phone now and thinking this product is crap.

That's disappointing.... When did it start rebooting?  Was it after it received the last update a week or so back, or have you even received the update?  That would be interesting to know.

The phone was updated within the past week. No problems until yesterday. The service rep at the store thought the phone was trying to find lost info or data and kept rebooting to try to find it. They couldn't make it stop, so we were issued a new phone.
