I am blind and need a phone that has talking menus: contacts, text messages, etc. A friend told me that the LG Rumor 2 has those functions but I cannot confirm it. I know the Sprint version does, however, it has a different model code(LX2665). Can someone tell me definitively that it does on all LG Rumor 2 or is it carrier specific with the software provided to each carrier. I want to go with Virgin Mobile LG Rumor 2 (VM265) because of the unlimited plan for $60. It is imperative that the functions speak aloud as I cannot read the screen. Thanks for the help

I don't have a VM265 to work with here... But looking in the Documentation is does state "Voice Control with Voice Guide & Reader" so it sounds like it would do the trick for you...

Thanks to all who replied. I thought it was available regardless of carrier. Virgin Mobile told me it did not speak aloud the menus and such. I believed it was based on the original manufacturer, LG. I have bought LG products before, but now I LOVE LG stuff. Since 1996, mnaufacturers have been required to make telecommunications devices fully accessible to the handicapped. To this date, only LG and Apple have done so. Thanks LG! I will buy one today.

NOTE: VM has pretty much crippled this phone to force you to buy anything you want from them. Don't believe their web site where it says you can use the MicroSD card to add your own ring tones etc. It says you can but when you try to figure out how, no one knows and you will be on the phone for hours while they give you a run-around. If you are happy with what they think you are entitled to do with your own phone...it is a nice phone. But it is NOT the LX265 you wish it was... You can't even install applications other than the two or three they offer which are crap.
