Can someone give me some basic information about the memory in a smart phone (particularly the Incite C810)? Im trying to run a GPS program, CoPilot. It has three parts: the main executable program, a large amount of map data stored on a 4-GB SD card, and an add-on text-to-speech (t-to-s) converter. |

I think the missing 50MB of RAM is being used by Win 6.1 as over head, there really isn't a lot of room to play with. In later versions of Win Mobile more of the OS was built into ROM requiring less RAM to for operating room... There are some good threads over on XDA-Developers.com discussing memory issues in 6.1... |

Thanks, LG Product Pro. I went over to XDA-Developers but found it somewhat out of my depth. Your suggestion about a bloatware-stripped ROM sounds good, but I didn't find anything I was certain about. Can you point me towards something? |

I've never gotten into the Custom ROM world, I'm not in a position to do it with my phones, and I haven't had a dialog with any of the people who are developing the ROMs... There is an interesting NON LG Site called "LG-Incite.com" that talk about Incite Stuff... It is not supported by LG and any modifications will void your warranty... But, here is a Thread on Incite ROMS. http://www.lg-incite.com/lg-incite-rom-dev/ |

Yes, that website was very helpful. Haven't taken the plunge yet, as I'm going on a trip & will *need* the phone, but I think I'll try on my return. Thanks again. |
