Connecting LG Env Touch to USB port on Windows Vista 64-bit produces an error: Windows needs a driver for LS CDMA modem. Don't know what that affects, but using BitPim to access LG memory also produces an error: can't get phone data, can't identify candidate COM port. Tried to update sw with LG online sw fix - the web site says the update supports the Env Touch but when I ran it I got an error message "phone not supporting sw update". LG phone rep told me to get Verizon to get the update - but I don't know if that is supposed to fix the connectivity problem.

First you need the LG Drivers that will allow the enV to communicate with your PC... Get them here:

http://www.lgcommunity.com/file_library.aspx (Look in the Drivers Folder)

Install the Drivers but make sure the Phone is not plugged into the USB port while installing them. After the Drivers are installed you can plug the phone in to the USB port and you should see several "Installation Bubbles" in the lower right of your screen as the drivers are being loaded. Make sure you DON'T have the enV in "Mass Storage" mode if you are going to use BitPim.

The update utility is kind of a work in progress... Depending on the model of enV you have it might not work.

I agree with the LG Phone Rep. To update the Firmware on the phone I'd recommend that you take the phone to a Verizon Corporate store and have them update it...
