I just purchased a new LG Cosmos from Verizon and want to use it for access while connected to my Windows XP Professional laptop configuration. I have the cable and figure I'll need to download and install the USB drivers. What else do I need or do in order to make this phone act as a modem while attached to my laptop? |

So you want to tether your Cosmos as a modem to access the internet from your Laptop? If so, tethering is not supported by Verizon unless you have one of the Smart Phones they allow tethering with like the LG Fathom. The Fathom is a Windows based phone that comes with Verizon's "VZAccess Manager" which is the software you can load on your Laptop that will manage your connection. If you are just looking to connect your Cosmos to your PC to transfer Photos, you can use Vcast media Manager (Free on Verizon's site) that will allow you to connect your Cosmos to your PC to transfer photos... Also you can download the LG drivers from this LG COmmunity site at: http://www.lgcommunity.com/file_library.aspx (In the Drivers Folder) But with out the above program there isn't much you can do with the Cosmos. Sorry if I misunderstood your question. |

Thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I didn't think I could do this with the Cosmos, but thought I'd ask. |
