My Slate Blue Env3 has V06 firmware but my wifes older Red Env3 has V02.  The LG updater and the Verizon updater no longer support this phone.  Why not?  How do I get the "self powering down problem" on my wifes phone fixed if I can't update the firmware?

Humm, the update is still in the Update tool.  Try this.  UNPLUG your Wife's enV3 from the computer and run the Updater Utility.  It will load to basically a blank screen, next plug the enV3 in and watch the update Utility.  It will take a couple of seconds but then it should start talking to the phone.  It then should rerport the model of phone attached and the version of Firmware that it is running and , in your case, tell you that there is an update available.  From this point you should be able to progress through the Update steps....

I apologize, the update utility is still "A Work in Progress" and can be a little finicky at times...  If all else fails you can go to a Corp Verizon store and they can update your Wife's phone...  Verizon has a more sophisticated method of applying update.

Let me know what happens.

I also have not been able to update my phone.

I am hoping it will fix the time stamp issue on my phone.

When ever I take a picture the EXIF data is not correct when it displays the time the picture was taken.

Are you trying to update your phone with the LG Update tool on a PC or trying it "Over The Air" straight from the phone?  If you haven't tried it yet, I would try the Update Tool, which is found at LG UPDATE TOOL

Nope no good.

I have a Verizon enV3 and the updater you listed is not showing it in tthe supporting model list and when I launch this updater it shows that I am on the latest firmware. This is shown either way I do it having it hooked to my PC and then launch it or lauch the updater and then hook up my phone.

Is it possible that you can send me a different way to update this phone as I am handy with a computer and do not wish to drive one hour to get this updated and an hour back, gas aint cheap anymore.

I have the driver listed on this page.  http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-VX9200-Blue.jsp

The Version of the driver on this page is a little downlevel (4.9.4) but not bad 4.9.7 Is on this site in the Drivers & Resources page in the Drivers & Resources section, but I don't think it will make a difference.  ZV6 is the latest version of Software for the enV3 so if you're on ZV6 you are up to date.  Anything older should allow the update to update your phone.   I'm not sure that the camera was updated to fix the EXIF data, I'll see if I can find that info.

My version is VX920V03

What is ZV6?????????

My main concern is the EXIF data on the photos being written incorrectly.

I use this data to orgianize my photos appropriately and I really want this fixed.

Will updating to V06 fix this? I also read somewhere that V07 was the lastest so i am lost I guess.

I still do not understand why I can get the updater to work.

I will look for that driver you mentioned, but in case I cannot find it can you link it here?

regardless....can we please have a link to the latest firmware file for this phone? I actually have a Telus branded phone. its stuck in a bootloop after a factory reset. there is no warranty on it, but it is easily fixed if i have the firmware/bin file. The current LG Mobile Updater program recognizes the phone when I have it in bootloader/download mode(end+5 and plug in usb) but refuses to see the connection when attempting the actual update or recovery via updater menu. This is absolutely insane, theres really nothing wrong with the phone other then corruption in the current software load and I should not have to send it to LG and pay for this to be fixed. I can easily do it in minutes if the bin/firmware was accessible. I currently sit looking at this brick as it reads 'LG     Downloading... Do not unplug!!' and it never does nothing. its like the factory reset simply wiped it. any effort is sincerely appreciated. Thanks!
