Waking up this morning, I see a system notification that an update is available for my Ally. I obligingly install it. After a seamless download, boot and install cycle I begin to explore the differences.

Finding the Corporate Calendar application was an exciting moment - especially as an absent minded meeting bound professional who uses Microsoft Exchange in the office.

Unfortunately, the sync does not appear to work fully. I create an appointment on the Ally and shortly after, the appointment shows up in Outlook. Very cool. However, when I attempt to create an appointment in Outlook, it does not sync to the Ally's corporate calendar. I've reviewed the settings on the phone and had my sysadmin check for errors in the Event Log on the Exchange 2007 server.

It appears that I'm running VS740ZV8 Build ERE27 based on the "About Phone" dialog in "Settings".

Is anyone sucessfully running Corporate Email app on the Ally? Has anyone seen this behavior yet? Any suggestions???

Thanks,
Mike

I'm seeing the Sync issue and I am looking what's going on with Corp Calendar sync. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

The Exchange sync issue is a well documented flaw in the Android 2.1 OS. This is not Ally exclusive. However the fix is a whole different animal. There are 2 possible fixes. #1. Lg decides to go ahead with 2.2 or #2. Lg backports the entire exchange protocol from 2.2 and rolls it into an update.

I think there's a Third option and that is to fix the "Corp Calendar App" .... However I personally like your Option #1

I think it's be just as hard if not harder to make the "corp Calendar App" work because it is the stock android calendar that has been tweaked by Lg. So not only do they have to fix the Exchange Push bug that was written by Google they have to go through all of the Code that Lg inserted to try and fix it and redo that as well.

True. I'm looking into what can be done to remedy this issue.

Mine seems to be syncing fine. The only issue I see is that when I create an appointment in Outlook, it syncs to the Ally as a Meeting Invitation which means I can't change it on the Ally. It's not something I can't live with but I was wondering if anyone was having the same issue.

Not as of yet, I'm still working with the Solutions team on this one. I know it's important and I'll post as soon as I find anything out.
