I recently upgraded to the LG enV TOUCH on Verizon Wireless. I connected the phone to my computer and I am able to sync music VCAST Music with Rhapsody, use it as a mass storage device. I purchased a Kingston 8GB microSD to use in the phone. I was able to use the phone as a USB Modem with VZ Access Manger and LG Outlook Sync to synchronize my MS Outlook 2007 contacts with my new phone. Then I decided to pair my phone with the Bluetooth Receiver on my computer. I was quickly prompted for all kinds of drivers that I wasnt prepared to install Dial up Networking, Image Recorder, Remote Control and Serial Port. My computer wasnt finding the drivers so I cancelled the installations. The Phone and Computer paired over BT but the USB Modem driver wont install properly anymore. I tried several different drivers from the LG Website - LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.8.1, LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_WHQL_Ver_4.9.4_All and the driver included when I install the VZ Access Manager, none of them work anymore. When I plug in the phone (I tried several different USB Ports on my computer) the computer searches for the driver but cant find it. I read on a Verizon forum to do a master reset on the phone and reactivate it, but that didnt resolve the problem. I tried turning the BT on the phone OFF but the computer still wont find the USB Modem driver. The phone can still be used to sync music and as a mass storage device, those work fine. I promise you, the USB Modem feature worked fine until I paired the phone to the computer using BT.

I have a Dell Bluetooth Wireless KB and M. I found a Bluetooth Peripheral driver on the Dell website, I installed it and I am able to communicate with the phone over BT but the USB Modem still wont install.

My computer is custom built with Windows Vista Business 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM, Intel 3.0 Ghz Quad Core Processor, 1 TB SATA HD. I even tried installing the phones USB Modem on 2 other computers but it didnt work on those PCs either. Those computer were not able to install the driver properly.

When you say that you are downloading the driver. Where are you downloading the driver from? If you go to vzam.net the correct driver should work. It does not sound like a problem with your computer. Have you adjusted your USB setting to ask on plug?

That is becuase you are using the wrong driver. 4.94 is an older driver which had some problems. You are best using the latest driver which is 4.96. You can get it from the LGMobile updater

Dont worry if this link is from the UK site, the program is universal. Just install the app, run it (it will detect where you are) it may even tell you that you have a SW upgrade available.

If you have issues connecting to cdma workshop, or lgnpst, or bitpim or any other program, I am so glad to tell you that you come to the right site. I found the easiest way for you to do this. LG Phone Problem and Solution

Copy pasted from mobile-files.com.

1. Dial ##LGSERVICEMENU [SEND] service code is 0000000
Choose Data > Port Map > Diag > Make sure its "USB" (mine was at "NULL" or none), Exit out of this service menu

2. Go to Settings > Phone Settings > Security > Reset Defaults
Phone will ask you to confirm the reset, choose yes, and it
will reset the phone to factory defaults.
Now, the phone will be detected normally, and you can continue like usual.

PS. Im not sure if both steps are required, but that is what fixed this problem for me. I didnt plug it back into the computer until I had done both, so I dont know which step fixed it. It may be #2 fixes #1 (puts diag back to USB, which is the default, instead of NULL). Or maybe #2 resets other stuff too, I dunno, but I was happy it worked! Hopefully it works for other people as well.

jwsirmons solution worked prefectly!

My modem was in bluetooth mode. Changed it to USB Diag and the LG sync soft finanlly stopped giving me the "not connected" message.

There are a lot of frustrated people on other message boards. LG tech support needs to get with it.
