We have been trying to setup email on our LG Chocolate Touch so we can leave messages on server to be viewed later with pc. Haven't seen any setting to leave messages on server like with Outlook. Can this be done? Was trying to use the corporate Email program.

What Email account are you using? I know for GMail you have to configure that option on the PC so that when you access it remotely it will either Keep or Delete your Messages from the Server.

Trying to setup email on centurytel.net account. Using Outlook on pc and Outlook Express on laptop, they both have a box to check to leave messages on server which is checked on each computer. How Can messages be left on server if viewed on our Chocolate Touch phone?

Thanks, jspen

What type of Email server does centurytel.net use? Is it POP3 or IMAP? It's probably IMAP and I don't think it actually "Downloads" the email from the server it just copies it. So you can have multiple clients access it without deleting anything... Check with your ISP... I think it's only POP that can actually MOVE the email so that's when you would have the exposure of deleting email.

I don't have an account I can use to test... Do you have an account you could set up to test with? I don't think the Corp email will delete the Mail from the Server... You might also test the Email App using the "Other" setting and then configure it as POP. That way you should have the option to set whether email is deleted or not.

Tried using the "Other" setting for our POP3 account. There was no setting to leave it on the server there either. We were told it would work with our email account, but apparently not. We are just going to use phone as a "phone only". Kind of an expense phone. Will remember this experience next time to buy an LG phone!

Sorry for what your experiencing... However when I try to set up a POP account, I do see at the bottom of the settings list under "Manual" that the option is there to "Delete Email from Server" and by default it is set to Never. Isn't this what you're looking for?

Can you try that setting for me?
