Hello all,

I'm finding the back-light to stay on a bit too short for my liking. Looks like a default of 5 seconds from opening the keyboard and after last key typed. Anyway, I'm not seeing a way to change the length of this back-light. I've looked in settings, but have come up empty (although I could have missed it). I imagine this is something LG could have added to the Android OS, but maybe didn't? Any options?

Great forum here! Some useful stuff so far for us Ally users. I'm loving the phone so far.

I've had a couple of requests for the Keyboard timeout to be increased... I'm passing the request on to see if it can be addressed.

You mentioned in the title " LG Ally keyboard backlight (back and search as well)" some other issues... Care to elaborate on them??

I totally agree on the keyboard timeout and have been looking into a solution also.... Im curious though if you have had the same issues with the other two items that I have...I started a thread on it recently...

This was in regards to the light green backlight behind these. Only functions for about 5 seconds before turning off. Kind of a pain to not be able to adjust it. The backlight is the same for the keyboard accept it's white (which I like better).

I responded to your other post as well.

Pro if you could also throw in a "suggestion" that touch sensetivity (sp?) be adjustable. I have no idea if it's even remotely possible but, would be a fantastic feature.

I couldn't agree with wgbeatty more. After owning the LG Ally for five days now, I can honestly say one of the first adjustments I tried to make was to increase the keyboard/keypad backlight timeout. The current five seconds is far to little time when in low light situations. A nice update that would add to the usability of this phone would be the ability to adjust this timeout form the default 5 seconds to 10, 20, 30 seconds and even one minute. Just as cool would be the ability to allow the light sensor to help determine if the keyboard/keypad backlight is even necessary should there be enough ambient light.

There was a App in the Android Market that would extend the Keypad light... I think it was called "Lite On" You might look and see if you can find it.
