I am frustrated, I have exchanged the Ally three times. I like to text and phone continues to freeze up. I need help with this issue. I really like phone, but hate the freezing.

Ouch, that's not good! Are you by chance an old "Alltel" customer who rolled your number over to Verizon? What part of the country do you live in?

I've seen this on a couple of old Alltel users, but I don't have the answer right now.

Please let me know.

My friend just got an LG Ally yesterday and is having the EXACT same problem. It locks up and reboots about 6 to 10 times a day when she's texting. She got frustrated and got another Ally this morning but it's also doing the exact same thing. She is a former Alltel subscriber in Georgia. Any thoughts? She is running v8 on both phones.

There is an issue with Former Alltel. I don't know what it is but the Moderator here has brought it up a couple times.

Today she is saying that the 2nd LG Ally she got yesterday is locking up even just sitting on the couch. She said it locked up and rebooted a couple times when it was just sitting on the couch this morning, she wasn't even doing anything. She's only had this phone two days and has not installed any Market apps yet. This is her 2nd Ally and it's doing the exact same thing as the first one she got 3 days ago.

We're chasing a possible issue involving the Ally Freezing during texting or just in general for old Alltel customers... I apologize for the inconvenience, we're looking in to it.

I am a former Alltel customer and am experiencing the same problem. I got my new LG Ally on 24 July and it started freezing the next day. I returned the phone for another, same model, on 28 July and it has since frozen several times.

I forgot to mention that I got another phone, same model, for my girlfriend at the same time I got mine. She got a new number and her phone has not experienced the same problems.

This is something we are looking into... Disappointing that we have a few with this issue. What State are you using the Ally in?

My wife has had this spontaneous rebooting problem with 2 different Allys in the past week. She ported her number over to Verizon from AT&T. Is there a problem with former AT&T customers like with former Alltel customers?

Not that I've heard of, I think it's more of an Ally thing than anything else.

Wow, I'm sorry for the issues you have seen with those Allys so far. They really are sweet little phones...

I'm not aware of any issues with AT&T.... The Line I use my Ally on is one I ported one of my lines from AT&T to Verizon, but it's been about 18 months ago. So far the reports that I am looking at all seem to be from the Eastern half of the US.... I would only be speculating to say any more, other than we are looking into it... I'll lte you know what I find out.

I am from Northwestern Florida near Alabama. I had the LG Ally for the first two weeks I had no problems with the phone. However, then I started having the same problems where the phone would freeze when I would text and sometimes when I was on the internet. It would also just turn itself off and on randomly when I wasn't even touching it. I got a new one today and twice tonight it froze. Should I ditch the phone? I only have until Thursday before my 30 days is up. I love the phone but am really discouraged by still having problems with it. Please help!

Ditch it and get the Moto Droid. It was the best move I ever made. The Droid is already starting to get the 2.2 OTA's.
