Anyone had this happen and know how often it happens?

I had like 35 notes and then wallah, gone! Kind of sucks.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Hmm. Is it possible that maybe when you went into your notepad they could have been accidentally deleted/erased? i know that I have done things like that before by mistake and then went, "DOH!"

I have my enV2 and use it often for both notes and text. I love this device. I read a lot of these forums and that is NOT a complaint that I have heard before.

Let me know what you think.

the phone does auto erases because I have the same issue and I thought it was an accident, but after it happened a few times i realized it was the phone and not me.

Yep mine does this also. I have even had a sales rep enter a note at the V store to prove that it was not me deleting the notes. Without adding a single note, just looking at them, I find that they are all gone. I have had this happen three times in 8 months. What can be done? Nothing from Verison except I could pay the $50 bucks and use my warranty from V. What will LG do about this?

Well it happened AGAIN! I know the notes were there last week cuz I added one. Then today I went to add another note and all the old ones are gone. Only the new one from today is there. Just sucks. No I did not erase them!

Mine does it. And the OK button in finicky and it restarts.. Lol, I love this phone but it is causing me distress. Last time I had an issue with a phone Verizon replaced it for free(refurbished of course) then it kept happening to those phones... Shell out the $50 bucks for a new one. Or Call the customer service and complain and you'll get a Refurb.
Personally, don't get a refurb.

me too! i've had this phone for almost a year now and am ready to give it up...wondering if the touch or env3 are any good. this is my 4th env2 in less than a year. had issues w/the previous three due to freezing instant messenger, constant shutting off and restarting for no reason, and then my most hairiest issue--the weird address book deletion and then resurrection into something completely different. pretty much, my address book disappeared one morning. i restored it using backup assistant. then when my husband called me, it was showing up as my friend, sue! wth? anyway...my notepad entries have been erasing all by themselves for who knows how long now. i have just learned not to put anything important there...ridiculous, isn't it?

I know this thread is completely dead but....

....last year, my mom experienced the same problem with her phone. Though she owns the fancier env, the touch screen one. But anyway, just a few weeks ago, this same thing happened to me, too. And I own the env2.

So I ask this to anyone who may read all this: Is/was your QWERTY set to ON? If so, is/was it set to Text message or Notepad?
When the mass deletion happened on my mom's phone, she had her QWERTY settings turned on for the notepad.
I had never used the QWERTY settings before because I don't fully understand the point. But one day, I decided to turn it on since I use my notepad constantly. I thought this would make it easier.

And maybe 2 weeks after having the qwerty settings on, my notes were deleted. And that was the first and only time that had happened to me. I had notes stored that were over a year old, and never had that problem occurred before the qwerty.

Anyway. ... I think QWERTY is the culprit. Either way, big glitch. Bad news.

That's disappointing... I'm not sure what's happening to cause the notes to disappear. But what you might try to avoid something like this in the future, is to download an app like "BitPim" from the www.bitpim.org web site. It will allow you to back up and restore the Notes and other data on your enV phones.

My daughter just lost about a dozen Notes on her ENV3.  Has LG figured out what is doing this, yet?  Sounds lilke it is a wide spread problem.  I know my daughter is pretty distressed about it.  They shouldn't just disappear without warning!

I've had a handful of reports of the Notes that appear to be erased,  I'll have to dig deeper...  There is an option for the Messaging that you can turn on and it will delete the oldest messages from the inbox automatically...  I'm wondering if this could be tied to that option...  Personally, I would turn it off so I have more control and also to see if it will help with the NotePad....

One thing you can do right now, is to download a 3rd party application called "BitPim" that has the ability to back up your NotePad, Contacts, SMS messages, Photos, and more....  You can also use it to restore items if they are lost...  Unfortunately this isn't an LG Utility but it seems to work pretty well with the enV2
