I would try resetting the Ally (Pull the Battery) and possibly deleting and re-adding the BellSouth account to see if that helps... You shouldn't loose any mail, it should re-Sync with the Mail Server and bring the email that's in your 'inbox' back, and hopefully start delivering new mail.

Have you tried the above steps?

I am wondering why when I get a new email, I am not getting the notification icon at the top of my screen? Did I accidentally change something I need to change back? I now have to go into the gmail icon app and then hit refresh. How do I fix this please?

If you are running a task killer it is killing the Gmail app. Remove task managers. Android doesn't need one anyways.

I do not believe I have any task killing programs on my phone. I just got my phone 2 weeks ago and unless it is something that comes with the phone I have not downloaded it. Still not auto-showing me new gmail.

You would have to install an App killer manually... It doesn't come pre-installed.

When you open Gmail and then go to settings, do you have Notification turned on? How about in the "Email App"?? Make sure the notifications are on and Try Setting the "Email Check Frequency" to "Automatic (Push) ... Is that what it is set to now?

I would also choose a different Ringtone from the "Default" one... I've seen this as an issue

Ok I switched the ringtone from default and checked everything else. It seems to be working now. TY very much.

Awesome!! Let's give it some time and see if the Notifications continue to work.
