Hello,

I "upgraded" from an VX8300 to an Accolade and I am trying to get the notifications set up as close as possible. It seems that the "Alert Settings" don't actually change any behavior of the phone. I have disabled all alerts for "Missed Called" and "Voicemail", yet the phone still vibrates when these messages popup (did not have this issue on the VX8300).

It really is a problem when you are in a meeting with your phone on vibrate (to screen for emergency/high priority calls), only to have it vibrate a 2nd time on a "Missed Call" popup, and one more time if the caller happens to leave a voicemail. That one phone call can potentially vibrate 3 separate times.

I took the phone to Verizon yesterday and they updated the software, but the phone is still vibrating on "Missed Calls" and "Voicemail". Makes you wonder what these settings are for.

Thank you!

Humm that's not good... You sound knowledgable on the phone, but let me review just to be sure I understand...

UNDER Sound Settings >> Alert Settings....

* Easy Set-Up is set to Ring ONLY

* Master Volume is set to OFF (Just one Click below Vibrate) Use the Side Volume keys

* Missed Call Vibrate is OFF and Missed Call Tone is set to No RING - Reminder is OFF

* VoiceMail Vibrate is OFF and VoiceMail Tone is set to No RING - Reminder is OFF

It sounds like this is how you have the phone configured, but I want to confirm before I report it....

Easy Set-up Settings

1. "Ring Only"

2. Keypad "Medium High"

3. Receive TXT = "Be Silent"

4. Receive Multimedia Message = "Be Silent"

5. Receive Voicemail Message = "Be Silent"

Alert Sounds

1. TXT Message

- Tone = "No Ring"

- Vibrate = "Off"

- Reminder = "Off"

2. Multimedia Message

- Tone = "No Ring"

- Vibrate = "Off"

- Reminder = "Off"

3. Voicemail

- Tone = "No Ring"

- Vibrate = "Off"

- Reminder = "Off"

4. Emergeny Tone = "Off"

5. Missed Call

- Tone = "No Ring"

- Vibrate = "Off"

- Reminder = "Off"

I use the "rocker" to set the "Master Volume" on the fly - "Ring" when outside of meetings, "Vibrate" when it needs to be silent. The software on the VX8300 was aptly suited for it, I hope the Accolade will also support it.
