Ok, so I just bought this phone and something irritating is going on. I have set the text messages/voicemail/picture messages to a certain ring tone, but it still just makes this dinging noise. And the voicemail rotates sounds, randomly, not ones that are set as ringtones for certain people. But just random sounds. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I have special ringtones for certain things and they won't work. Anyone else have that problem?

Yes. At first I thought I had a setting wrong. It just picks a random tone. This has only happened since they reloaded my phone because of the messaging inbox software bug. This phone is beginning to be a pain.

I have been working with the USCellular tech and appears some other software issue is going on. Here is what we found. In the contacts, change the contact message tone. It appears is has defaulted to the USCellular tone. Even though the default tone for all messages may be set to something else, this is the tone the phone is SUPPOSE to use. And it would be a USCellular request to use their tone for the default. What a pain to go and change them all.

A tech told me today this is related to how USCC sends tone issues for test messages and they have/will hase it fixed soon.

The actual problem is the last tone sounded is what the next message will use for a sound (if the email address is not in your contacts).
Another LG bug!!

Having the same problem with messages not using the default tone/ringer, but instead using the last tone that sounded. For instance, if I get a message or call from someone on my contacts list who I have assigned a particular tone, the tone will ring. But the next message alert that comes through from someone else not on my contacts list will repeat the previous assigned ringtone instead of ringing with the default message alert. A pain, and finding support on issues like this is impossible.

I had the update done on Wednesday 9/2 and wound up with a brick. Flashing the phone somehow wiped out the ESN. I got my replacement on Friday 9/4 which had the update applied. The tech could not tell me which bugs were fixed but he did say the one requarding voice training had not been fixed. So far I haven't had the phone spontaneously reboot on me. Not sure about the ring tone bug as I have decided to just use one ring tone.
