2 quick questions:

1 Do I need to do anything to switch from 1x to evdo? Not 100% it's available in my area (tri-cities washington)

2. What is the latest firmware/software version?

1. There is no manual switch to go from 1x>EVDO. US Cellular has spotty coverage for EVDO in that area. Your phone and network will decide when you are in an EVDO area.
2. THe LG software update tool does not currently support the ux840 so you would have to go to US Cellular to see if there are any updates.

What about the Mexico, MO 65265 area for 3G support? It's not here not ... in the future? When? Thanks ... another US Cellular LG Tritan UX840 phone user .... THANKS and Happy Spring 2010!!

Good Question.... I don't have the Plans for US Cellular 3G Deployment. Have you tried asking a US Cellular Dealer or Customer Service??

best thing you could do right now is call the customer service hotline and know if there are updates based in your location.

USCellular has 3g across most of their coverage area as of now. If you are not running T84UCV05 or newer, then you need to go to uscellular and have your firmware updated. To check your firmware, type #help*help at the dial pad. Your version will be under SW Version. Another thing that I would probably try first is updating the PRL on the phone. To do that, dial *228 in uscellular coverage area. The phone will reboot when finished. The current PRL is15088.
