We bought a UX260 for our daughter in March of 2009. She started having problems in January of this year when charging it. She would plug it in to charge and when she set it down, it would stop charging, pick it up, it would start charging. Wiggle the cord a little bit and you could get it to continue when you set it down. We took it to US Cellular and they sent it in for repair as it was still under warranty. I think we received the same phone with a new shell. After about 4-6 weeks she started having the same problem as well as having it randomly shut off, two separate issues. We took it back and the technician told us it was simply a terrible design, very prone to charging problems like we were having as the charging port comes loose from the circuitboard. We filed a claim with "The Signal, now part of Assurant Solutions". They sent us a refurbished model. Within a week, it started randomly shutting off. They sent us a new charger and wanted us to try that, it took a couple of days to realize the charger wasn't the problem as it was still randomly shutting off. I called and they again replaced it with a refurbed model. Within a month of receiving that one, it started randomly shutting off. Now they are sending us a new battery. It should arrive in a day or two. I don't have high hopes that it will fix anything.

So, at this point, my son and daughter-in-law have each had the identical random shutting-off problem with their UX260 phones and my daughter has had that problem with three phones in a row. To me, this is just too many of them for it to be a coincidence. Is anyone else seeing this same issue? Is there a fix for it? I'm tired of dealing with this and I'm not going to buy her a new phone at full price in the middle of a contract.

@LG Product Pro: Did you have a response? It appears all you did was quote my OP but added no new info.

Sorry I guess the message didn't post...

Have you tried contacting LG Customer Service to see if they can help? To have two of the phones both with issues is unfortunate and unusual.

I agree, I don't think the Battery will resolve the problem... When you called to get the Battery replaced, did you call LG Support? (800) 793-8896

Unfortunately I don't have any tricks that you could try at this point to resolve the problems you are seeing, but I think Support can help.

I just bought my lg banter ux260 2 months ago and I am having the same problem! US Cellular gave me a new battery to try and that worked for a couple days. The phone wont charge unless you turn it off and now it says its charging but the battery never changes, eventually it would just die as soon as I took it off the charger. Now they are going to send it in for repairs which takes 4-6 weeks!! And if they dont have a loner in the store I guess Im just supposed to go without a phone? Honestly i think I should be able to get a new phone no charge, a $180 phone shouldnt break after 2 months and now after reading about your problems Im not looking forward to the hassle! Either US Cellular or LG is going to give me a new phone because Im going to complain to whoever it takes until I do! Ridiculous!

Which Model of Phone do you have?? At this point, if the phone has Frozen, I would pull the battery and leave it out for about a minute and then replace it and power back up to see if it helps.

I'm sorry about the problems you are seeing... It definitely sounds like a Phone issue if you've replaced the Battery and the phone is indicating that it is charging..

The times that I have worked with LG Support they have been very quick in turning around repairs/Replacements very quickly.. Usually only about a week... LG Support? (800) 793-8896
