I purchased this phone, and found that I can not download or install JAVA apps from web or microSD. The problem in the firmware U. S. Cellular.
I know that the firmware from Bell have a Java support. I want to change this firmware, whether it is safe?

Thanks in advance.

I have talked to people who have done it, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you are an advanced PC user, you can find instructions on how to do something like this on the web.

Again I wouldn't recommend it because it could render your phone unusable and possibly no way to recover. Plus when you change firmware versions you can loose some functionality.

I have examined this question. As far as I know, the firmware from the Canadian operator Bell has full functionality.

I am concerned about the issue of loss A-Key... Or complete compatibility with the firmware.

I have not tried this so I can't advise you as to whether it will work or not and the level of compatibility... One of my concerns is using a phone meant for one carrier on a different carrier... Will the Network settings work? Do you have all of that information to point your phone's internet connection to the correct carrier?

Again, Officially I would advise against it, but it does sound like an interesting experiment.

Good Luck
