Muziq all the way; I'd rather have this than a phone AND mp3 player, one less thing in my pocket, plus the FM transmitter is pretty swank.

Sounds great, but the phone does not stay on.

You'll catch up on gossip when you're on the go

    - although you'll miss the messages because the phone shuts off in your pocket for no reason and without any warning.

text your friends fast to keep in the "know"!

    - not really all that fast when you factor in the time needed for the phone to freeze up and then completely restart.

The camera's for pics to snap, show and share

    - but the pictures are dark and difficult to see and the slow data connection ensures that the picture will take a while to get there and the phone usually shuts down while sending.

listen to your favorite music anywhere!

    - if you don't mind the music skipping and stopping randomly...you can use headphones but first you'll need to buy some with the smaller jack (can't use your iPod ear buds) and the sound is not in stereo.

    Qwerty Keyboard = awesome feature.

Phone's ability to perform all these actions = fail.

Contrary to what he says the rumor doesn't freeze up. It works fine.

I too would say the LG Lotus LX600 is a great choice.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a little odd looking. Not impressive. But it's a stealthy little phone. It actually looks like a miniature laptop. And as I've gotten to use it more and more, I'm appreciating it a lot. It's the best phone I've ever owned. I'm glad I didn't saddle myself with a "smart phone" like the iPhone or Blackberry. The Lotus lets you do what you need to with half the bulk! :D

I've been using the Rumor for a couple of months now. I love it over my old phone, but it's got a couple of drawbacks that I'd like to see fixed:

    1. The Media player does not allow for good organization of the MP3 files. I've put a long list of files on it into separate folder, but the Rumor just lists them as one long list--no folder organization. Makes it impossible to select specific files for playing. I wanted the folder functionality to be able to group my MP3 files.
    2. BitPim does not yet support the Rumor. It'd be nice if someone at LG or Sprint would give the developers at BitPim a hand in building the interface for Bitpim.
    3. The built-in camera is rather crappy:
    - Forget low-light conditions. Photos come out horrible, if at all.
    - shutter doesn't take the picture right away--there's about a 1 second delay from the time you press the button to the time it takes the picture. Horrible for taking shots of uncoroporative subjects--such as pets.
In other words, if getting a camera with the phone is important to you--forget about getting a Rumor.

Some of the features I really like include:
--The fact that it plays MP3 files--this was my main reason for selecting this phone.
--the QWERTY keyboard. Even though I don't use it for Texting, I do use it for keeping notes, creating schedules, or updating contacts. I hate using a numeric keypad for text. As simple a design it is to hide the keyboard in the slide-out--I'd suggest that this feature would be a great benefit on all phones.

Just read the previous posts about the Rumor freezing up--if this happens to you, update the firmware. There was a bug that cause the Rumor to do this, but the latest firmware update fixes this issue. If you don't have a data plan, you might try going into a Sprint store to see if they'll update the firmware without cost.

Having the worst experience with the LG Lotus LX600 display goes blank after 2-5 weeks been sent refurbished phones and the same problem with all three. Waiting on the 4th to arrive soon. The phone is not worth the money in my book.

Lg Lotus all the way. Loved it right out of the box. First one went swimming so i had to get a new one. New one is refurb and acts funky once and a while, but over all good. I just wish Pandoria worked on it. No real app lib. to speak of either. Other than that, phone is great. If the IPhone, G1, Pre, or Blackberry is too much stuff in a phone for you, look at the Lotus.

Definitly not the Lotus as the screens go bad and LG refuses to aknowledge the problem. I dont plan on ever buying and LG phone again.
