I have the LG Lotus, like the subject says. My problem is, I can set ringtones as a default, or for an individual. However, I can not set and individual TEXT ringtone. When I set the individual ringtone, it is only for voice calls, the text is still the same as the default tone. Is there anyway to change individual text tones? I'm willing to go into the registry, if that's what it takes.

You can go to settings>sounds>ringer type>messages>text messages>other ringers. This should work.

Sorry, I don't think I was clear the first time. I can set text tones. The problem is, I want to set different text tones for different people. I can set different ringtones for different contacts, but no matter how I try, the text tone is all the same for my contacts.

Oh, sorry about that you were clear. I misread your post. Try this. I have had this question before about the photos on the same phone. Pathing must be different than other phones. Let me know how it works for you.

1. Go to contacts

2. Highlight the contact

3. Hit ok

4. Highlight default ringer

5. Hit select

6 select change

7. Other ringers (or whichever folder you want to choose)

8. And set it as the ringer.

Well that changes the ring when that contact calls, but the text is still the default ring =/.


Maybe it can't be done without a registry change?

I think you are right. I can't find any other way to do it.
