I have a Sprint purple Lotus. I love the phone EXCEPT after having it for about 2 1/2 months, the small front screen stopped working and the main screen started looking like an old TV on the fritz with nothing but lines on it. I took it to the Sprint store and they repaired it. Now about another 2 months down the road (if that long) the phone is doing it again. I really like this phone, but if I'm going to have to get it fixed every two months, I don't want it. I have seen posts on the internet with others having this issue, so I know I'm not the only one. The phone is not abused, nor have I gotten it wet. Can someone here help me out with information on this model?

I called Sprint today and they have agreed to send me a new phone. I'll take a replacement this time, but if it also is defective, I will reluctantly elect to get a completely different phone.

The lotus I have been using hasn't had this problem. I will keep an eye on it though. Let me know how your swap out works for you.

Hi I am having the same problems with my screen and yes it does look like an old tv screen with fading colors. My phone was purchased approx 2 1/2 months ago. Perhaps LG needs to look into defective equipment regarding this phone. It's really crazy, I want Sprint to give me a new one not a refurbished one...that's not fair it's not like I've had the phone for years!

I had the same problem after only slightly over a month (just long enough that I have to go through LG warranty and not Sprint). The outside screen stopped working and the inside one does all kinds of strange things- upside down, black and white lines, left side on the right side, trailing colors. I also feel slighted to be getting a refurb, when my phone is practically brand new. I haven't even got the rebate yet. Now the rebate is denied because I deactivated the phone to send it back! I sure hope I don't have this problem again.

I cashed my rebate check today, only to have my daughter tell me hr phone was on the fritz. Looking at all these reports, I think LG needs a recall on these phones, not refurbs.

What is your daughters phone doing? How long has she had it?

The larger inner screen goes black and you can't see anything, and sometimes the small outer one goes black as well, but not always.

We've had the phone just a little under 2 months. I posted a thread yesterday.

Amazingly, all the complaints about this problem are here at the LG forum. At Sprint's forum, nobody's mentioned this problem.

Also, Sprint's website says it honors the manufacturer's warranty for up to one year, so they shouldn't be sending people to LG.

The most convenient way to swap out your phone is to go through Sprint. There are a lot of misconceptions about refurbed units out there too. Most of the time they are new models, and they have a warranty as well. Let me know if what happens. : )

I'm having the same issue with my Lotus. My first one both screens gone black after two months and my second one the same withing three months (both new phones from manufacture not refurbished). I'm going for my third one now. Sprint made you feel like it's not their fault that I chosed a piece of art and it is not working right. I lost my two years upgrade qualification with this Lotus, and can not go to any different phone. I'm stuck to Lotus for the next sixteen months. Through how many more do I need to go through. This is not fun. I'm vry frustrated and upset. Somebody need to be responsible of this cell phone Lotus not working right. I am not the only one, every review in the internet had Lotus users complaning with the same issue. In the ten years that I've been with a cell phone this is the first time I have an issue. Sprint can look at my records and verify this.
I need a honest help with this issue.
I'm and of this since I am a very busy person and had no time to stay in the phone or at the store for hours trying to solve this problem every two months for the next year and a half when I'll qualify for a new upgrade.
I agree that LG need to recall them I paid a lot for it.

I didn't know I could go thru Sprint for the Warranty work. On the website it said it had to go to the manufacturer. IF YOU DO NEED TO SEND YOUR PHONE TO LG, MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY BACK, BATTERY AND MEMORY CARD. They forgot to tell me that and now I have to spend my own money to replace the memory card. Sprint said it was an LG issue. Now I'll go back to Sprint and tell them LG can't help me.

You havea one year warranty with LG. Of course we can help you. However, there is a system in place with Sprint as well that you might want to utilize.

I received a refurb Lotus from Sprint as the screens went out. What do you mean by "they have a warranty as well" ?
