I recently bought a replacement phone - new, but unlocked. We use AT&T as our carrier.

Some text messages received only have the @ sign. No message body and no number/sender ID. Some text messages from the same person go through fine, however, some are garbage, like I described. Is there a setting or software update available for this phone that corrects this?

Unlocked devices are not guaranteed to work as a regular device and frequently have little quirky things that happen with them. Price paid for having an unlocked device.

Looking closer, she was receiving "_@" messages with no body. However, these blank emails are voicemail alert messages that were sent whenever she received a voicemail.
