A year ago, AT&T sent my husband the LG VU as an insurance replacement model, and as at the time it was too advanced for him, I put it aside as a backup and just recently moved my sim card and smart card into it and began to use it.

It's a great little phone and I have adapted to the touch screen, though it would be great if I could get a stylus to use for scrolling the phone contact list.

My Question is regarding potential apps I might download, what if any might be available for this phone? I would be interested in an e-reader app, maybe a map thing. I don't know what's out there frankly and would be happy if anyone can answer my questions who knows more about this phone.

It does have a seven-day trial of "my cast 5 weather." (But no indication of what it will cost if I desire to download the app.)

It also has a "movies powered by IMD" app, my guess also a trial version. Do I need the AT&T $9.99 TV subscription to use that?

I have no use for myspace or any social networking app.

* I'm not sure what apps are available for the Vu right now. I'd be very careful where you get them from as well... The Vu is a pre Smart phone and it's not incredibly expandable for add-on apps... I would check AT&T's App Store to see what is available

* I love My Cast Weather" I use it on all my phones... Through AT&T, I think they charge a monthly fee, like $3.00 or something. Maybe it's less now

* I believe the Movie App is seperate from the TV Service, so you would be charged per movie.

* Yeah, I'm not much into the Social Apps myself, but unfortunately they are built in so they can't be deleted to free up space.

The Vu is a good little phone, I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the info. I will explore the AT&T store for now. I see the weather app per month, would be handy when traveling!

The TV I am thinking I might pick up during the World Series. I met two young women with this phone watching TV while their friend shopped. They told me they did not own a TV and watched TV always on this phone. LOL!

And yeah, it's a great little phone. I wonder if LG will have a smart phone out to compete with the iphone/Droid models before long? I would pay attention if they do.
