I have the Vu (or Vue, don't remember how it is spelled) had it since November, IT WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE! IT ALSO SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY!! Has anyone else experienced this problem with that phone & what can I do about it that won't cost me an arm & a leg (I.E>don't want to purchase a new battery & don't think I should have to either) I think all phones have a one year service & support warranty on it, but of course I don't have my receipt/paperwork that I'm sure that they would want. HELP : ) |

The Vu is a great phone, but I have heard of rare cases of the Vu not holding a charge. Since the phone is only about 6 months old you can get it looked at through LGs Tech Support, or I would think AT&T could help as well... To get in touch with LG support, you can call (800) 793-8896 ... They should be able to help out. |

I have had the same problem for the last 9-10 months(among a number of other issues, this being the worst). I have had the phones(I have two) for 18 months and ATT told me that they cant fix the issue and to contact LG. The batteries dont seem to make contact with the phone and so if its shook or jostled the phone will quickly die or randomly shut off. |

I'm also having this problem. I'm now working on my second battery for this phone. The first time I called they said it was a battery problem and sent the second battery. They seem to work for about 6 months then they won't charge right. I'm able to have a 15-20 min phone conversation before it dies. When it started happening again I called AT&T and they said now it is a device problem but surprise surprise, I'm out of warranty and they can't do anything for the phone. So basically when you are in warranty they give you the cheap fix then when it happens again, you can't get it fixed. I'm so frustrated because my upgrade date isn't till October. I'm at a loss for what to do now because I know if I contact LG support they won't do anything for this phone because the "warranty is up" UGH!! |

I've even had it shut off on me and I can try turning it back on and the battery says full! The battery life fluctuates so badly on this phone! I LOVE the camera though. It it wasn't for the camera, I would have thrown it out! |

I seem to be having similar problems with the LG Vu Plus (GR700).(Should I start a different thread?) Once after charging I couldn't get it to turn on, then when it did, it turned right back off, and finally I got it on and it stayed on, though I wasn't sure what I did, if anything, to make a difference. What I didn't understand was why it was off in the first place. Today I had a somewhat different issue: Last night I was thinking ahead and plugged it in to charge. Grabbed it this morning and went to use it later and it was off. I turned it on, got a low battery message and it said goodbye. So now I'm without a phone until it's charged. I suppose it's possible it wasn't plugged in correctly or something, but I saw it indicate on the screen that it was charging before I walked away. So I have two questions: 1) Can I use my phone while it's plugged in and charging? If so, how? (I've tried.) 2) Is it ever supposed to turn itself off while charging or after the charging is complete? |

Yeah we should probably move this to a new thread.... Are you charging via USB or AC adapter? It almost sounds like you have a bad AC adapter (If you're using the wall charger) or the port on your phone is bad.... If you are using the USB cable to charge, then that would point to the USB port on the phone as well. 1: When you charge while on the AC Adapter, the phone works normally, you can call and recieve calls. When you are charging via the USB port of your PC, the sa,e is true... HOWEVER, the phone detects a Data connection if you have a MicroSD card in the phone, and will initially go into "Mass Storage" mode... Just dismount the Card from your PC and hit the "End Call" key on the phone and it will continue to charge but you will have normal use of the phone. 2: NO the phone should not turn off once it's charged... It should never turn off on it's own... That's concerning. Let me know. |

This is not true!!!!! I called this number and the man couldn't tell me anything i needed to know. More less pin point what the problem was. He kept insisting that i send it in to get looked at and fixed, which would cost anywhere between $50 and $100. Not once did he tell me what he thought the problem is, and they call theirselves experts. |

I had the same problem with this phone. It turned out to be a breakage where the charger plugs into the phone. It was the little blade inside. It had snapped. Not enough to fall out, just enough to deny a solid charge. This was discovered after I purchased two new chargers ( one for the car, and one for the house ). Also, after purchasing a new battery. I would have your phone inspected immediately. You wont get a refund for all the other stuff you've replaced. |
