Till a month back, when I last used Bing on my phone, it was working fine. Yesterday, when I try to start Bing on my phone, it complained that the device is not compatible. I thought probably the program is corrupted. So I uninstalled it, downloaded the CAB to my PC, moved it to my device, and clicked on the CAB. Now it reports that the device resolution is not enough for Bing to run and the installation failed.

The screen is of 240 x 400 pixels. When did Bing stopped running on LG Incite? Is this experienced only by me or more of you having issue with it?

ThanQ...

Ouch... I, Personnaly, haven't tried Bing yet on the Incite, but I wouldn't doubt that they released an updated version and raised the Minimum requirements to run it.

Do you see a listing of the Minimum Hardware/Software requirements?

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=F50C78CE-CADD-4C37-B3A6-14B7D72626F0&displaylang=en&displaylang=en#Requirements

It looks like the software ver is okay, maybe it is indeed the hardware spec that's been raised.

Thanks for your reply.

The system requirements just talk about Windows Mobile 6.x version for both software and hardware. And both requirements are met by my phone. Any professional software is supposed to cater to multiple platforms. However WM 6.x is not too old that a major search app should not be running on it.

I fear that as they were rewriting it for Windows Phone 7, forgot to set the flag to check for WM 6.5 also. I can't think any other reason. However someone should confirm it or set it right!!!

At Microsoft forums, guys were very angry on this. There is a work-around. Switch off radio (no phone, no WiFi), start Bing 4 (the old version), let it timeout connecting to internet, start radio again and use Bing as usual. But if you close it or reset phone, you will have to repeat this.

Just for your reference check this link:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobile/thread/8bb5eed8-2ab6-4233-a5c6-4c9c4326a11e/

There are many threads there. This is one of them.

Wow, Thanks for the update I need to follow this more closely... Being lazy, let me ask whether this issue is only effecting 6.1 phones or is and issue with 6.5 and 6.5.3 Phones?? Are they really pushing that hard for Win7 Phones??

Thanks again.
