Thank you.

The Scoop does not have the option of receiving ringtones that have been purchased because of digital right management (DRM) restrictions via Bluetooth. However there are ways around this. You can use third party websites like www.mobile17.com, which allows you to create your own ringtones with the music that is already on your PC. The site gives the ability for you to create a ringtone up to 40 seconds at any point of the song they would like. (although ringtones are typically 30 seconds - I would stick to that) The site sends the ringtone as a text message to the Scoop and when you receive it press the options button and save as ringtone

I understand the concept of DRM on purchased ringtones but why is the Scoop not capable of using standard MP3 format files as ringtones? The ringers file option doesn't even recognize MP3 files, does LG use a different audio file format? My Motorola Ming not onlyis not only capable of using MP3 files but is supplied with an app. in MPT to convert and crop audio files for this use. So far I have been impressed with the functionality of this product this option would greatly improve the versitility of this phone. Not all of us wish to purchase pre-made(boring) ringtones or go through the hassle of a second party site for custom ringtones and wait 255 minutes to process without purchase.

I suspect the music file size is too large to be used as a ringtone. It should be cropped down and tried again It recognizes MP3 format it just isn't accepting that large of a file. The typical size is 300 kb or less. Also, a problem you might be experiencing with the custom ringtone site is the more free ringtones you send yourself, the longer it will take to receive the last tone. Example: One tone takes about 30 minutes, two tones take about an hour, etc. This is especially true with the free version at www.mobile17.com

I have heard that sites like mobango and zedge and cellsea do not have this issue though I have not personally used them.

I went to www.cellsea.com to create a ringtone. I was able to create a ringtone with my own music and save it to my computer, then transfer it to the sd card. It shows up under My Audio on the Scoop; however, when I go to Sounds, ringtones and open My Audio, the ringtone file doesn't show up. How do I get it to see the ringtone file so I can add ringtones to the phone? I was able to play it from Media, thenMy Audio.
