I Have an AX840 originally for Alltel, but now with Verizon since the merger. I read in several different places that a software release was issued earlier this year. and it was Version 5? Is this correct. I have Version 4 and nobody will do a software push for me. Can someone help? my current software version is T84ATV04 |

'04' is the current version of software for the AX840, so you are up to date.... In the future you can update your phone using our Update Utility which is found at: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/mobile-support/mobile-lg-mobile-phone-support.jsp Let me know if you additional questions. |

Are there any more updates planned for this phone? This is probably the best LG phone I have ever had, just the right mix of technology and substance. The only draw back is not being able to set ringtones of your choice. Since Altell is no more I am kinda stuck. |

You can change your Ringtones... You will need a MicroSD Card and a USB cable to hook to your PC. Once the Card is in the phone, go to settings and then Phone Settings and elect USB Connection Mode and Choose "Mass Storage" Mode. Now when you plug the usb cable into your phone and PC the MicroSD card will come up on your PC as another Drive Letter. Copy any MP3s that you want to use as Ringtones or Alert Tones to the folder named "My_Audios" on the MicroSD card. Now dismount the MicroSD card from the PC and on the phone go to Menu>> Media>> My Stuff>> and then Audios... Go to the Menu and Choose Move... Then select the Sounds you want to move to the internal memory and move them. Once they are in the internal memory you can go to Settings>> Sounds>> "Ringers" or "Message Alert" and choose the one you want from this menu to set as a Ringtone or an Alert Tone. Hope this helps. |
