I appreciate your attempt at trying a search but its just going to render useless. Plus a shady site like latestdownloads will only get you a virus or trojan horse on a PC.
You arent going to find what you are looking for unless AT&T decides its necessary, trust me.

I cant reiterate anymore, that you CANNOT GET PBAP on your phone unless LG writes the software for it. They are the only ones with the programming code for the phone.

Thanks. As you can see it is difficult for me to let go. I guess I will turn my attention to AT&T & LG.

HEY LG. HOW ABOUT UPGRADING THE SOFTWARE ON THIS PHONE AND OTHERS LIKE IT SO THAT WE MAKE USE OF THE PBAP PROFILE.

Now it is getting more confusing. I went to the official LG website and looked up the specs for this phone. It states that the phone HAS the PBAP. I then called the LG tech department. They confirmed that the phone HAS the PBAP. LG claims that ATT has to support the profile for it to work and import my phone contacts to my car.

Hey I just went to the lgmobilephones.com website....I dont see anything specific about the phone having PBAP. Can you link the source of your info?

I also went through the GD710 User Guide and there is nothing said about the phone supporting any type phonebook profiles either. The only things it mentions is that you can transfer contacts and calendar events....but this is standard Object Push Profile stuff.

ATT has to support the profile, but not necessarily for your phone. Only the phones that are planning on supporting it have to go through ATT's testing first.

Actually it does state support for the "Phone Book Access Profile" in the Shine II data sheet. But I've seen these be wrong before. Below is the Bluetooth section of the Data Sheet

"Version: 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)
Supported Profiles*: headset, hands-free, dial-up
networking, advanced audio distribution (stereo),
object push, file transfer, A/V remote control,
phone book access profile, & basic printing Save up to 20 Bluetooth Pairings
Bluetooth Stereo Headset Support for Music
Send Contacts, Calendar Events, Memo, &
User-Generated Pictures/Videos/Voice Memos via
Bluetooth Wireless Technology
*Certain profiles require the use of additional equipment which is sold
separatel"

Yikes. So much conflicting info out there....

LGPP, I have seen these as well with the spec data sheets not really being entirely accurate :-)

Time for me to "man up". Today I went to the Honda hands free link website to see whether they had completed their testing of the LG Shine II. Well, they did. To my amazement the website indicated that the phone could import the phonebook to the Honda Accord. I called them to see how it was done. What they did I had already done. So why the different results? The rep suggested that I delete the phone and re-pair it. I did and it worked. The phonebook was imported. Not sure why but I am happy with the results. So now I will publicly apologize to LG and ATT for my previous rants notwithstanding the fact that their agents were mainly ignorant of what I was trying to acccomplish and pointed fingers at each other. If there were any doubts about the LG Shine II having the PBA profile this resolves the issue.

Thanks for your comments, this will be helpful to future visitors.... However, historically, transferring the phone book to a car kit has been troublesome... Now we have heard that the ShineII works and the Accolade is working as well...

Thanks again!

Thank you. Maybe LG can pressure ATT to update their software for this phone and others like it.
