As long as my Motorola bluetooth headset is active, my Lotus will not ring or give any audible alerts such as text messages. Is there a way around this?

Hi Erin,

I have the Lotus too. I looked it all up and found that when Bluetooth is connected, it will ring/announce the caller through the bluetooth. Since you would normally be wearing your bluetooth when you have it turned on, you will know when a call comes in. In addition, I always have mine set to ring and vibrate that way, when I have my bluetooth on, the phone vibrates me to alert me of a call even if my BT is in my pocket or something. If you want to turn vibrate on, simply hit your volume up or down button, and then hit the left soft key under vibrate and it will turn on.

Hope this helps! :)

sadly, it doesnt. i do eventually take off my headset while im at work as i dont want to wear an ear piece all day and when i get home and set it down. having to go into the settings and turning off the bluetooth is also pretty tedious. ive missed plenty of calls because of this.

otherwise, i love my lotus.

Same with Hayfever as me. I always use my BT, but it's not comfortable enough to wear 16 hours/day, and it's much better to have to pick up and pop in the headset than unflip, ask caller to hold on, switch to BT and then talk.

I've had my lotus less than 24 hours, and other than this, I love it, but this is really a showstopper bug (this is worse than the old issue with Razrs where turning on bluetooth made all calls use the default ringer)

I've been poking around the forums for awhile, but doesn't seem to be that anyone has even mentioned it.
