Last phone/headset: VX-8300, Motorola H700 BT earpiece.
Owned for almost 3 yrs. No issues. Rock solid performers.
Recently upgraded to the VX-9200 (env3) on Verizon. Love the phone, but it's having trouble connecting to the BT earpiece, despite having successfully paired/stored already.
I disable BT on the phone when not using it, to preserve battery life. So it's normal to turn BT on/off several times a day. Never had an issue with the VX-8300.
When I turn on BT on the env3, and open the earpiece to connect, I get nothing. Even hitting the button on the BT earpiece does nothing to prompt the phone that something's trying to connect.
I am forced to power cycle the phone, then power up BT. Only then will it recognize the H700 BT earpiece.
Any clues? Will newer firmware be released? I've read other BT issues here and elsewhere.

I'm having the SAME problem with an Env3 purchased last week from Verizon. My BMW shows up on the phone as a device, but the car cannot find the phone... I'm ready to return it since hands-free driving is a must in NJ.

Anyone have any information on these BT issues with the 9200..??

Howdy!

I picked up a vx9200 with Verizon in June. I like the keyboard and all but the bluetooth support is rather crappy. I have a TomTom 730 that it will pair with, but never work afterward. I just managed to get a Plantronics Voyager Pro to pair and it seems to work (for now).

The phone is pretty cool so far. But the bluetooth stuff kinda blows.

I was having trouble until I found a setting "earpiece" or "speaker". I set it for earpiece and it solved my problem.

I sometimes have the same problem with UX 840 Tritan. I often can poser cycle the device, Motorola S9 & Chrysler Town & Country Uconnect. This doesn't work all the time. I cannot find a "earpiece" or "speaker" setting for the devices. On the Tritan the device connection settings are not configurable. This is a pain, I have to delete the device and reconnect just to the "always connect" to "ask for connect".

I have the enV3 and have paired my phone with my Garmin Streetpilot. My problem is that it power cycles the phone over and over again and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Anyone have this issue or know what I can do to fix it?

Hi. Do you know what software you are currently running right now?

Settings and Tools> Phone Info> SW/HW version

The latest version is VX920V05

If you do not have this, you can either update DIY or go to a Verizon retail store.

Here is the link for the updater tool for your PC. Dont worry that its the UK LGE site, the software is the same globally.

I just updated my firmware this afternoon and haven't had the opportunity to see if that helps the bluetooth issue with the garmin. Thanks for the info!
