Hello all, I searched on this but found nothing. I am curious to know if anyone else has seen this or if it is a known problem.

I started using the BT to transfer files today. File transfer seems to work well for mp3 and picture type files, that is to say they end up in the appropriate folders on the mem card, \my_music and \my_pics respectively. word and pdf documents however do not. They transfer to the root directory of the card and not into the \my_documents folder. I checked this with a card reader.

You can clearly see the transfer is taking place (progress indicator on the phone), however when you go to the document viewer on the phone the docs do not appear in the file list.

Here is the procedure and equipment I am using:

Iogear BT dongle with latest driver from Iogear website
Widcomm btooth stack on WinXP Pro SP3
enV Touch


1. On my computer... copy files I want on the phone to BT exchange folder.

2. From BT device menu on phone select "my computer"

3. Scroll through list to "Browse/Get files" and select it

4. See the list of files in BT Exchange folder

5. Select various files and transfer begins.

6. Pics and mp3's end up in correct folder automatically. Docs and pdfs go to root of card and are unavailable to the Doc viewer

Any help or work around is appreciated. Is this a bug? I can't imagine it is by design? I can use the USB cable (or card reader) to transfer files, but would like to use the BT.

There is at least one other person that has this problem. Has this problem been formally entered into the SW folks ticket system? If so can you give an ETA for a fix or if a fix might make it into the next SW update?
