I own an LG Rumor 2 phone.


Rather than spend money for a special Bluetooth accessory, I'd like to be able to use my favorite stereo earbuds (standard 3.5mm male plug) with an adapter (2.5mm male to 3.5mm female STEREO adapter from RadioShack).


However, when I've attempted this, I only get audio in the right channel, nothing in the left channel. I've triple-checked that all plugs are connected correctly. I've tried multiple sets of earbuds known to function in stereo without success.


Is the Rumor 2 capable of stereo output in this manner? Or has the stereo headphone capabilities been hobbled to force me to purchase special Bluetooth accessories? Or did I get a bum adapter? Or is there some other means I should use?

The problem is that y ou need a 2.55mm plug that is longer than normal. What you're describing is typical of only connecting with one contact so you only get sound out of one side. I know one of my co-workers ordered one off of Ebay that was deep enough to work on her phone... You might ask the Radio Shack guy if they have any that are a little longer.

Unfortunately these days at Radio Shack, "You've got questions, we've got blank stares." The only clerk present was a young lady who pointed out the one adapter and shrugged off the possibility of there being any others. Even calling my local Sprint store left the guy on the phone befuddled when I asked for an adapter or whether the phone was capable of stereo out (he really didn't know).

Ebay, here I come.
